Privacy Policy for ScreenCommand

Overview

ScreenCommand is a privacy-focused web browser designed for external displays, made by Simple Products Labs LLC (doing business as Simple Products Studio) ("we", "us"). We take your privacy seriously and have built this app with a privacy-first approach.

Data Collection (App)

The ScreenCommand app collects ZERO personal data. Within the app there is:

• No analytics
• No tracking
• No user accounts
• No transmission of your data to us
• No third-party analytics or advertising services

Your purchase itself is processed by Apple under Apple’s own privacy policy. Apple does not give us your name, email address, payment details, or Apple Account — we see only aggregated sales figures and, for users who have opted in to sharing with developers, anonymised usage statistics.

Local Storage

The app stores your settings locally on your device using iPadOS UserDefaults:

• Homepage URL preference
• Cursor style, size and speed, video volume, whether the browser opens automatically when a display is connected, and your Cinema Mode preferences
• Open tabs — their web addresses and page titles — so your session is there next time
• Favorites (bookmarks) and any folders you create, saved as a list of titles and web addresses
• Housekeeping values: whether you have seen the in-app tour, and a count of completed display sessions used only to decide when iPadOS may show its own “rate this app” prompt

Web Browsing

ScreenCommand uses Apple’s WebKit framework for web rendering.

• WebKit may store standard cookies and cache locally (per iPadOS standards)
• We do NOT collect, track, or have access to your browsing history
• We do NOT monitor which websites you visit
• WebKit data (cookies, cache, site logins, and site storage such as local storage) stays on your device and persists between sessions so sites like YouTube can keep you signed in; deleting the app permanently removes all of it
• WebKit is provided, maintained, and updated by Apple as part of iPadOS — the same engine Safari uses. We do not modify it, and its security updates reach you through iPadOS rather than through us
• To show desktop layouts on large screens, the app identifies itself to websites as a desktop browser. That is a standard browser setting and involves no data collection by us
• The app has no separate “clear browsing data” button and no private-browsing mode — deleting and reinstalling the app is how you clear everything. When iPadOS reports low memory the app clears WebKit’s caches only, never your cookies or logins

To provide the cursor, the on-screen keyboard, media controls, Cinema Mode, the one-tap ad skip, and the protected-content notice, the app runs small scripts inside the pages you view. They run entirely on your iPad and send nothing to us or to anyone else.

If you use the Screenshot button, the app captures what is on the external display into a temporary image file on your iPad and hands it to the iPadOS share sheet. You choose whether to save or share it, and with whom. Screenshots never reach us.

External Websites

When you visit websites using ScreenCommand, those sites may have their own privacy policies and data collection practices. We have no control over and are not responsible for third-party websites’ privacy practices.

Security

Data the app stores locally is protected by iPadOS’s built-in security features. The app sends nothing to us — your browsing traffic travels directly between your device and the websites you choose to visit, protected by standard web encryption (HTTPS) where those sites support it.

Children’s Privacy

The ScreenCommand app does not collect any data from users of any age, including children under 13. The website’s former “Notify me” form (see “This Website” below) was not directed at children, and we do not knowingly store children’s email addresses — a parent or guardian can request deletion at any time via the contact details at the end of this page.

Feedback You Send Us

If you use the in-app Send Feedback feature, the app opens an email draft in your own mail app addressed to support@screencommand.app. If you choose to send it, the email contains your message plus basic technical details you can see before sending (app version, iPadOS version, and device model). This is entirely voluntary, is used solely to respond to you and improve the app, and we keep feedback emails only as long as needed to handle your request — we delete them on request.

This Website (screencommand.app)

Before ScreenCommand launched on the App Store (August 2026), this website offered a “Notify me” form. If you entered your email address there, we collected it for one purpose: to email you about the launch. The form has since been retired and no new addresses are collected. Addresses gathered through it are stored with Resend (resend.com), our email service provider, which processes them on our behalf, until we delete them. You can unsubscribe via the link in any email we send, or request deletion at any time by emailing support@screencommand.app. We never sell or share your email.

Our hosting provider (Vercel) generates standard server logs (IP address, browser user agent, timestamps) for security and operations. The website uses no analytics or tracking scripts and sets no tracking cookies.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you and to access it, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy in a portable format. Where we relied on your consent — the retired “Notify me” list is the only example — you can withdraw it at any time, which does not affect anything we did before you withdrew.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@screencommand.app from the address you want us to look up. Because the only personal information we could hold is tied to an email address, that is how we verify the request is really yours. We answer without undue delay and within one month, free of charge, and we will never treat you differently for asking. Note that the app itself stores nothing about you on our side, so for app data there is simply nothing for us to retrieve or delete — it lives on your iPad and goes when you delete the app.

We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the past twelve months. We do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising or profiling, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Simple Products Labs LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company based in the United States, and our providers (Vercel for hosting, Resend for the retired email list) also process data in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, that means your information is handled outside your home country. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated “Last Updated” date.
