Getting Started
- Connect your iPad or iPhone to a display: wired via USB-C or a USB-C-to-HDMI/DisplayPort adapter (recommended, lowest latency), or wirelessly via AirPlay to an Apple TV.
- Launch ScreenCommand. The browser opens on the external display.
- Glide one finger to move the cursor, tap to click. On iPad, a connected mouse or trackpad works too.
- Tap the keyboard button to type, or type on a hardware keyboard.
- Open Settings to customize cursor style, sensitivity, and homepage.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I connect an external display?
Two ways. For the most responsive cursor (lowest latency), use a wired connection: a USB-C cable, or a USB-C-to-HDMI/DisplayPort adapter. Open ScreenCommand, plug in, and the browser appears on the monitor. Or go wireless: AirPlay-mirror to an Apple TV and the browser opens on the TV (a little more cursor lag). On an iPad, landscape gives the best experience.
Why isn’t the keyboard showing up?
Tap any text input field on the website first, then the keyboard will appear. With a hardware keyboard connected, the on-screen keyboard stays hidden: select the field and type.
Why won’t Netflix or another streaming service play?
Check how you're connected. Over AirPlay, protected video can't be sent to the TV, so ScreenCommand shows a notice: connect with a USB-C cable and Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Paramount+, Peacock and other streaming services play. Video without DRM plays either way: YouTube, Vimeo, and most embedded web video.
How do I scroll, right-click, or double-click?
Slide two fingers on the trackpad area to scroll. Tap with two fingers for a right-click, and double-tap with one finger for a double-click. Swipe three fingers left or right to switch between browser windows.
Can I use more than one monitor or window?
ScreenCommand drives one external display. On it you can open up to 4 browser windows, each with up to 12 tabs, and show one at a time or two side by side. To switch, click a window number at the end of the tab bar or swipe three fingers left or right on the trackpad. For two at once, click the side-by-side button next to the window numbers, or Side by Side on the iPad.
Do I need an internet connection?
The app itself works offline, but you need internet to load websites, just like any browser.
Is my browsing private?
ScreenCommand collects zero data: no analytics, no tracking, no accounts. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I change the homepage?
Go to Settings → Homepage URL and enter your preferred URL.
How do I report a bug?

System Requirements
iPadOS 17 or iOS 17, or later
iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad mini, or iPad with USB-C, or iPhone. A cable on iPhone needs USB-C video out (iPhone 15 or later, except iPhone 16e, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air); any iPhone can use AirPlay.

Troubleshooting
iPad or iPhone not detecting the external display
Wired: make sure the monitor is powered on and switched to the right input, then reseat the USB-C cable or USB-C-to-HDMI adapter. Try a different cable or port if you have one. On iPhone 16e, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air, USB-C carries no video: use AirPlay instead. AirPlay: open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, choose your Apple TV, then return to ScreenCommand.
Typing goes nowhere
Tap the text field on the page first: the keyboard types into whichever input is focused. If it still doesn't respond, tap the field once more or reload the page.
The mouse moves the iPad pointer, not the TV cursor
Open the browser on the TV first. iPadOS only hands a mouse to an app that fills the whole iPad screen, so make ScreenCommand full screen, not side by side with another app or in a window. If you gave the mouse back to the iPad, tap Use Mouse on TV at the top of the trackpad, or press ⌥⌘M. A mouse works on iPad; on iPhone, the screen is the trackpad.
A video won't play or the page looks wrong
Reload the page first. If a streaming site shows a protected-content notice, you're on AirPlay: connect a USB-C cable and it plays. Some sites also detect an iPad or iPhone and behave differently despite desktop mode.
App crashes
Update to the latest version from the App Store, restart your iPad or iPhone, or reinstall the app (note: reinstalling clears saved tabs and site logins).
